New Recaptcha V2 QR code challenge is natively supported by Anti-Captcha
The Anti-Captcha team has confirmed that the new Recaptcha V2 challenge with a QR code is natively supported by our service. No changes to your integration are required: since every captcha on Anti-Captcha is solved by real people, our workers handle this new challenge the same way a regular website visitor would.

What is the Recaptcha QR code challenge
Google presented the new challenge in the summer of 2026. At the moment it is being tested in a closed mode on a limited set of websites, before being rolled out to all Recaptcha customers. Instead of selecting images or ticking a checkbox, the user is shown a QR code and is asked to complete the verification on their mobile phone.
The idea behind it is simple: it is relatively cheap for a bot to emulate a desktop browser, but it is much harder to emulate a real physical smartphone with a camera, a genuine operating system and access to the official app stores.
Technical features
- Mobile-centric. The challenge cannot be completed inside the browser where it is displayed. The verification is moved to a separate device — the user's smartphone — and the browser only waits for the confirmation.
- Scanned with the phone camera. The QR code is scanned with the regular camera app of the phone. No third-party QR scanner is needed: the camera recognizes the code and offers to open the verification.
- Solved by mini-apps from Google Play and the App Store. Scanning the code launches a lightweight mini-app distributed through Google Play (Android with Google Play Services 25.41.30) or the App Store (iOS 15/16+). The mini-app opens instantly without a full installation and performs the verification on the device.
- Device-bound verification. The result is tied to a real physical device, which makes the challenge very hard to automate with headless browsers, emulators or AI-based solvers.
How Anti-Captcha workers handle it
We ran an internal test among Anti-Captcha workers: about 50% of them were able to solve the new challenge right away using their own phones, without any additional instructions or preparation. The rest mostly need to update their operating system or switch to a supported device, which is a matter of time rather than a real obstacle.
This is exactly where a human-powered service has an advantage over automated solvers. A person with an ordinary smartphone completes the challenge in seconds, while a bot would have to operate a farm of real devices to do the same.
What it means for our customers
You keep sending Recaptcha V2 tasks the same way you do now. When a website shows the QR code challenge, it is solved by our workers on their phones and you receive a regular g-recaptcha-response token in the task result.
See the Recaptcha V2 Enterprise API documentation for the task parameters and code examples. Don't have an account yet? Create one here.
